68th spirit of the Ars Goetia, King Belial is notorious for his unpredictable nature and his enormous power within the Infernal Realms. He governs 50 legions and is said to appear in chariots of fire. It was said from the Ars Goetia that he was created second to Lucifer and his command is also second to Lucifer as well. Belial incites lust, sexual perversion and some even consider him as the chief of demons. He rules of the Abyss, lawlessness, trickery, sin, wickedness, chaos, darkness, witches, war and necromancy/death. He grants familiars and helps those he favours tremendously in their paths, practitioners should often give offerings when summoning the Great King, as he often demands it. He guides people through darkness, testing his practitioners and thus strike old foundations down to build new ones. He acts as a Guide when the magician ventures in the Abyss, he can help one reach enlightenment and is often an initiator to many traditions and currents. He can help greatly in sex magick, necromancy, and baneful magick of any sort. He can also bestow strength, incite violence and cause insanity.

King Belial is probably one of the most intimidating spirits/guides I’ve ever encountered. His unpredictable nature makes workings with him a bit more difficult since his tests are rather strict and unrelenting. He is a great alliance to have however, when you have gained his favour, he will assist and guide you to the right path. He is not a beginner friendly King due to his unpredictable nature, and I advise practitioners to give the utmost respect when encountering this great King. He is known to be stoic and strict, but can be kind, compassionate and a great protector towards those he favours much. Always be open minded about King Belial.
